Online Casino

Twin Casino, launched in 2017, offers a diverse range of over 2,000 games and a secure, user-friendly experience, backed by top-tier software providers and eCOGRA certification. I worked for Twin, for 2 and a half years and managed to improve design system, create design for Japan version and optimise deposit page. During 2020 casino had ~1M users per month.

Initial Stage: Gathering and Organising Design Components

The first and foremost goal of the team was to expedite the development process and gain clarity on what was happening. Therefore, my initial step was to gather all the components previously created by the former design studio. Everything turned out to be quite chaotic, but with a bit of diligence, it was all manageable to organize. Below, you can see my first stage - the assembly of components.

Organised Components

This is just a tiny portion of the outcome of my work. After completing the system, everything was compiled into a single component system in Sketch. In retrospect, I realize that Sketch wasn't the most convenient tool for such a task.

Mobile First

During the project, my focus was on optimising both mobile and desktop applications. However, with a higher user base on mobile devices, it was crucial to ensure that all navigation and interactions were as transparent and consistent as possible.

Japan Market

The team approached me with a request to expand and launch in the Japanese market, presenting a new design challenge for me: understanding international UI patterns across different continents. After thoroughly researching market-specific features, competitors' strategies, and how websites adapt to various markets, we identified two approaches: the 'European Expansion,' where the UI remains minimalist and clear, or the 'Japanese Expansion,' which would add more widgets and details to the home screen, focus on content and bonuses, incorporate emojis, and use more colors. Eventually, we chose a middle ground, blending cultural elements with our European casino style.
